Story and Characters

Life is filled with brief moments of boredom and a desire to fill those moments with entertainment or even adventure.  Reader was exposed to just such a vulnerable state; simply floating through existence...  Until a hand reached out.  The owner's voice asking for help.  And Reader, curious you, answers.

Reader stands before a bleeding locker with a broken lock.  Ernest Demon, the owner, can't open it.  Vital assignments are inside.  With a touch the broken lock snakes onto the hand of Reader.  A dark chuckling can be heard.  The door opens and the darkness of the unknown beckons, pulling the pair in.

Ernest Demon has procured for you, Reader, a brief moment of entertainment.  That boredom and curiosity which has brought you here is now challenged by what could even be called - adventure.  If you have a taste for, nay, a hungering desire for mystery, action, romance (of a kind), and a sprinkling of violence then this is of course for you.  Anything more said would just spoil your dinner.

Wouldn't want your appetite to be violated.

As for the characters of this story:

Reader:
What does Reader look like?  Really just look in a mirror.

Reader I will inform you now, that You have an important part to play in all this.  Without You, Reader, Ernest would have been unable to turn in his assignments.  You're like, a hero or something.  Or like a main character of a story or video game.  Pretty exciting right?  It's almost like everything is happening here for your benefit.  So relax.  Or be tense and suspicious.  Whatever puts you in the mood for this sort of thing.

Ernest Demon:
The mysterious fellow who dragged you into this 'mess'.  And by 'mess' of course we mean the quite strange number of predicaments and environments which you, Reader, will surely find [how should we say?] sticky.  To both tongue and mind.  And fingers.

Ernest is an imposing figure with a distant yet inward look in his eyes.  Ink covers his hands and a large portion of his lower face.  This naturally makes it difficult to determine if he has any facial hair on that sharp chin of his.  With the right lack of light he appears quite demonic.

He tends to dress in a flowing black garb which might have once been an overcoat of some sort that is now in desperate need of repair.  Let's call it a vest.  Under this he wears a single piece jumpsuit with a single circular design equivalent to a badge/patch over his chest.  The collar is mandarin and a mockery of a tie is dyed into the vest.  Yes it is open.  Yes this means there are two white lines that when it comes to rest resembles a tie.  No it is not an actual tie.

His hobbies include calligraphy, contemplation, assignments, protecting Reader, soul searching, thinking about his family, trying to understand what the Twins are after and finding ways to create more questions for your questions when you want answers.

The Bleeding Locker:
A rather creepy looking sports locker that looks like it should be in a women's locker room.  Black inky goo leaks from its air vents and it has a combination lock.  The whole Locker is badly beaten up as if someone took a piece of sporting equipment to it.

The Bleeding Locker doesn't look like it belongs, much as if a collage was pasted over reality.  Whenever the thing appears, it brings about a change to the local scenery which is filled with an array of other out of place containers all jam packed together; ranging from shoeboxes to phone booths to mailboxes.

The Locker exudes essence of bear trap.

As for the lock, it's broken.  For whatever reason the lock only responds to Reader now.  Whenever the locker's door is to be open the lock deforms itself into a serpentine shape, wraps around Reader's hand and solidifies into either a bracelet or a gauntlet.
[Don't lose this, it's our only way out.  Think of it like a key. -Ernest]

When one enters the Locker... let's just say you're taken to unique places.

Oh and that creepy laughter and voice?  Well.  Eat your meat first then you'll get your pudding.

Last Night's Homework:
If ever there was a true star to this show, if it were a show, it would obviously be me!  After all, without me there would be no substance, no adventure and nothing to do.  I am after all, the Assignments!  The Bleeding Locker would just gobble everyone up, even me, and then there would be nothing left!  I might seem just a sheet of paper to your eyes, but I assure you that my edges are crisp and that my texture is exquisite.  Even now I am recording this very moment where you are enjoying my awesome presence and hey-! Where you going! Come back I'm not done.  Don't go down that hall! Don't open tha-

Bzzt.  Bzzzt. Bzztzzt.

Us? You want to know about Us? [The Twins]:
Hello dear.  I sensed you snooping around.  A curious one aren't you? Naughty-naughty.  We like that.  What are we wearing?  Only the smoothest of smooth fluid for when we meet.  For when we finally embrace.  Haaaaah, the anticipation makes me... Mmm...  What do we look like now?  Oh you flirt~<3 That comment feels so negligent it hurts so good.  Have you forgotten my curves so soon?  Have you forgotten the fire in our eyes when we first met?  Or the chains which keep me down?  Reader... Reader ReaderReader-How I hunger for you-Just a bit of a taste for now-Just-

Slam.

[Okay Reader that was a close one.  Good thing I pulled you out.  [Didn't I say not to look at them?]  As you saw the Twins are dressed in fine red fabric with gold embroidery.  One is female and the other is male.  They are both quite eye catching and seem to have chains.  Satisfied?

Ugh... The way they speak shifts all the time.  One minute it's as if only one of them is speaking and yet at another time they will speak in unison.  Sometimes they speak without moving their lips, other times they speak and the world itself shifts...

There's something strange and creepy about them Reader.  Unnatural.  Despite their allure, try not to fall for them.  I feel that they have quite a lot in store for us.  - Ernest]

Wait don't go down that hall!  Can't you see the yellow tape?  It's under construction!
Ew, watch your step.  Watch it!  There's ink everywhere.  When it's finished there'll be a gallery and bonbons or something.  Shoo before Ernest comes back.  Suizo!  Suizo come here!  - Pensmith

A lot of work is still in progress, but if you feel that you can't wait, then head over to tails of ink. There you might find an image or two that will surprise you. - Pensmith
